Plans, they never quite go....well, as planned!

My friends and I had such a great weekend planned. The plan was to spend an entire weekend here

Maple Memories

at Maple Memories. Maple Memories is the most DIVINE scrapbooking/crafting house. It is set up perfectly for scrapbookers (or quilters) for that matter. This house is a beautiful old victorian home that the owners have turned into a haven. More importantly, when I walk into Maple Memories it just feels like home, only home without all the work that goes with it.

Sadly, we had to cancel our weekend. Many of our partners in crime had conflicts. After much moping, pouting and nearly sobbing I've picked myself up by my bootstraps, and what do you know....I now have a very busy weekend ahead.

In just a bit I'm meeting one of my besties, more like a sister for a great lunch. As we roll ourselves out of PF Changs and the we'll be off to another favorite place. Scrapfunattic (found here  http://scrapfunattic.com/)
is a fantastic scrapbook store and well worth the hour or so trek it takes to get there. It'll be a fun day with a best friend, followed by a senior picture photo shoot.

A lost weekend, now not so lost. Who knows what Saturday will bring....

Random Conformity

I have a teenager who strives to be random, along with his random friends. The other day I had an interesting conversation with them....oh did that make them angry. You see, I suggested that in their desire to be completely random, they were actually conforming, since random is what everyone strives for. Don't get me wrong, I want my kids to embrace their uniqueness (is that even a word?)...They are amazing created beings, with no one just exactly like them. I pray they learn to recognize their gifts and use those gifts for good. I suppose while they are muddling through the process, they can embrace their random conformity.
